taeOne – Fuck Your Beats (A Remix Project)

In anticipation of his new original record, A Feature Film (dropping June 2011), taeOne has has pieced together a new remix project to give you a taste of whats in store for you Hip Hop fans. This collection of remixes, Fuck Your Beats, is in no way meant to disrespect the original producers behind these classics, but is rather a statement about the current state of Hip Hop production. In a scene inundated with J Dilla clones and faux Euro-Trace atrocities, taeOne proudly brings you that vintage, dirty, and soulful sampled based Hip Hop that is few and far between these days. Classics such as Raekwon’s “Criminology” and Big Pun’s “Firewater” are featured alongside up and coming beast MCs the Master (of Midnight Specialists) and Suede Jury (featured on Fresh Daily’s new album The Quite Life). Sounds range from smoky Jazz numbers to paranoid abstract synth arrangements, all firmly anchored in the classic New York City rap sound that taeOne is known for. Keep an eye out for A Feature Film, but for now, pull your hoody down low and get ready to fuck shit up.
