On the 25th Anniversary of the Rodney King beating in LA (3/3/91), RA-NYC released The Fire Next Time. The misconception is that police brutality is happening more often now because of increased media coverage, but this project puts the present in historic context by resurrecting the words of James Baldwin on interludes and creative mc’s from across the country to address police brutality from their own perspective
