Akomplice, the J Dilla Foundation, and Joey Bada$$ have joined forces for the love of music. Their upcoming collection unearths previously unreleased music, serves up fresh goods and gives back to the community through the donation of 100% of the collection profits to youth music
Akomplice has melded the posthumous talents of J Dilla (partnering with the J Dilla Foundation) with those of the burgeoning Brooklyn emcee, Joey Bada$$ in a collaborative capsule that will enable youth access to music. Included within the collection is a t-shirt and crew neck that pay homage to the hallowed producer through an angelic cloud-graphic of J Dilla’s face cleanly printed across both. But a collaboration of this magnitude wouldn’t be complete without original music. Also included is a 45 record exclusive to the capsule which contains an unreleased Dilla beat dubbed “Two Lips” on Side A and an unreleased Joey Bada$$ track over the aforementioned beat on Side B
This collaboration began at Dilla Day Detroit 2013 when Akomplice joined the promotion of the concert with the Yancey Media Group. Since this past February, Jonathon Taylor, Chief Executive of the Yancey Media Group, has worked directly with Akomplice to foster the concept from start to finish. The unreleased J Dilla track comes directly from the #LostScrolls, the cache of unreleased Dilla masters that were unearthed in 2012
The limited capsule collection will be available in 29 countries at select Akomplice retailers starting November 29th. The complete collection will also be available online in the Akomplice webstore

Beat Trotterz vinyle – Customization

Beat Trotterz est originellement un vinyle, sorti en septembre 2005 sur LBRSTL, compilant les morceaux de sept artistes/groupes hip hop de divers pays: Japon, Russie, USA, Canada, G.B., France, Danemark, Espagne.
Les protagonistes en sont Ivanov XVI & Lord Faz avec le soutient des membres de LBRSTL.
Le vinyle, tiré en série limité à 5OO exemplaires fut distribué en France, au Japon, en Espagne, aux Etats-Unis, au Danemark, au Canada, au Royaume-Uni, en Allemagne, en Belgique et en Suisse.
Durant cette période de distribution quelques vinyles trainant dans les stocks furent customizés par les membres graffeur de LBRSTL, sans objectifs précis hormis prendre du plaisir à graffer un nouveau support (quelques images ci-dessous).
En 2008, Lord Faz soutenu de Vee One (R.I.P.) reprirent le flambeau du concept en fondant Beat Trotterz en tant plateforme international de Hip Hop à travers l’organisation de concerts, tournées et sorties de mixtapes.
La compilation fut rééditée digitalement en mars 2012 sur Bandcamp avec en prime la participation de plusieurs producteurs pour une série de remixes.
Une soixantaine de disques invendus restant dans les bacs, Faz et Ivanov se sont dit que renouveler l’idée de la customization des pochettes pouvait être une bonne continuité, et cette fois-ci de manière officielle avec expositions à la clef.
Le concept démarre en septembre 2012, et est toujours d’actualité.
Actuellement, des graffeurs et graphistes de Paris, Rouen, Montpellier, Orléans ont acquis les disques et travail dessus.
le projet est ouvert à qui veut bien, aucune deadline n’a été fixée, la clôture se fera quand nous estimerons avoir suffisamment de pièces.
